Sharon Gardens is a holistic assisted living home for the elderly. We offer cost-effective, loving care that is personalized to each individual’s nutritional, physical, emotional and spiritual needs. Our mission is to foster independence, nurture the spirit, and provide a safe, home environment, while developing a close, loving community through activities that engage the spirit, connect the residents, and provide a sense of purpose.

It is my intention to give residents whatever they need to live each day to its fullest, with an abundance of joy. Our trained staff receive continuing education in the care of the elderly and healing therapies, and are committed to treating each resident with kindness, dignity and respect. Caregivers are selected for their intuitive and healing abilities, which we believe make them better able to understand the needs of the residents, as well as offer them the best in geriatric care and healing therapies (such as geriatric massage, aroma therapy, reiki, reflexology, transition counseling, hospice, and more.)

At this stage of life when choices and independence are diminished, we strive to provide a quality and richness of life that insures each resident's physical and spiritual well-being and comfort, in part by offering choices, providing a beautiful home, delicious meals, a wide range of activities designed to nurture the body, mind and spirit, warm and caring staff, and a low resident to care-giver ratio.

Please note we are committed to quality of life for residents and caregivers alike, at Sharon Gardens.  We therefore reserve the right to refuse Alzheimer's patients if they are disruptive, belligerent or violent. However, we are eager to assess our therapies in those who have dementia and Alzheimers, so each potential resident will be evaluated for 2 weeks of day care only, and if compatible, full time residency for 2 more weeks. If at any time during the 4 week trial period, it becomes apparent the potential resident is disrupting the lives of other residents, the potential resident will need to find other housing immediately. 

Please note we strongly suggest a four week trial period, if at all possible, for all potential residents, not just those with Alzheimers or dementia. This allows a smooth transition. It respects the needs of the elderly to feel in control, and allows them to become familiar with the caregivers, other residents, the environment and routines of Sharon Gardens. Change is difficult for most, and can be scary, and a trial period ensures they aren't moving into a completely unfamiliar environment. It allows the elderly to participate in the activities and therapies, to experience the pampering and delicious food, fun activities and caregivers who love caring for them. It's not a job with our caregivers, it is a calling and a passion, and we feel honored to be able to assist, nurture and love them at this stage of their lives.
